Because those numbers are pulled straight from IHR's collective anus. Holocaust deniers can't even get their numbers straight. Sometimes it's as low as 300,000. Sometimes the number goes up to 4 million. Of course, all those numbers contradict the Nazi's own Wansee Protocol, which clearly states the number of jews in occupied Europe was of 11 million jews circa 1942. The number never mattered, anyway. At best, it's a poor attempt to derail the conversation, at worst, a deliberate, dishonest attempt to strike doubt into the one of the most documented events in human history. As if the huge inconsistencies among holocaust deniers themselves wasn't suspicious enough. Regardless of the number, it'd still be a genocide.
