A complaint system

Name: Anonymous 2015-08-10 15:45

Alright, here's an idea I have to improve the globe!

We make a website that let's citizens report anything illegal,
no matter how small or big. I'm thinking, is this about
snitching? Not really. These won't be private tips, but public posts (in my opinion, anonymous).

A lot of scams hope to never uncover due to their size. They are small scams, operating locally. Moreover, they can only work in certain countries. Little by little, these sorts of scams eat the system.
So the idea is to make a website where everyone and anyone can report what is seen in daily life and is out of order. It need not be only about scams.
Lawyers know lawyer scams, doctors know doctor scams, poor people know poor people scams, et cetera. If we combine this knowledge we might be able to fight crime and improve the world.

I sound like a lawful good faggot. Anyhow, how does that sound to you guys here?

That's a wonderful idea. Do it. It shouldn't be hard to implement at all, although some kind of anonymising layer would be necessary.

I think that is a good idea

but how will you protect yourself as the site owner?

if someone got their op shut down because of complaints on your site they may make it their mission to shut it down.

it's a good thing WHOIS doesn't list your personal info.

I'm thinking that this needs to be a mobile app (besides having a website)

The problem is the scams are known but there is no incentive to crack down on them when the bribes are flowing in. This will only effectively crack down on the lower class.

Why is that bad? We have to start somewhere. It can also serve as a community improval system. Things like:

*Dead cat roadkill at (location). Someone pick it up?
*Road hole found in (location). Drive carefully! Fix it pls.
*No trashbin in this bus stop. Fix?

It need not be only about corruption.

Sounds useful but how do you detect false positives? What about people who just want to defame someone?

What a bunch of whiny bitches. Jesus fucking christ this generation is completely fucked. Completely fucked. As soon as someone stops changing your diapers you'll rot in your own shit.

Whoever feels like taking action can also investigate. Then, when action is taken and something actually happens, an actual news article will be reported, and you can link to it with 'case verified & dealt with'. Allegations such as 'I was raped by the president' are not that problematic. If anything, posting on that website would harm your case in court (assuming you are the victim). Defamation through that website would not be taken seriously. The website is not about "X did Y", it's about "I saw X happening in Y".

You think warning others about a hole in a road is 'whine'? As for the trashbin, while I personally put my trash in my pocket until a trashbin is in sight, others simply throw them down. Some of us are looking for a solution to the pollution problem.

I posted these examples because I wanted to show that the website would not only be used about corruption. It's funny that you speak of a generation when you are oblivious as to what my age is.

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of /prog/ are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bait to help you get used to the anonymous text-board culture!
