ElasticSearch is a scam

Their (actually his - Shay Banon's) initial goal was to produce a piece of bullshit software to get funding money which would otherwise be spent on real software like Solr. He succeeded in getting the money, lots of it actually.

When Sham Banana is not busy smoking hashish and banging prostitutes in the red lights district he answers gitlab and mailing list bug reports with requests for more data to help him reproduce one elusive bug or another. Which for some reason never gets fixed, as the users keep having the same issues, which were supposedly made obsolete by 0.90, years later with 1.6.2.

If you think you can base your search infrastructure on a java product written by a single dutch person, you are duped. So was I. Now I am in a world of shit, stuck with a number of barely working ES clusters.

Bumping for my friend who is also in the world of shit because his 50-strong ES cluster refuses to index documents with no observable reason whatsoever
