Tired

Name: Anonymous 2015-09-05 0:22

I feel tired of all this, I now have a masters degree, a good grasp in a lot of areas, amazing in some very specific niches, have a good job, no shortage of money. Yet this doesn't entice me at all anymore, I might as well be out fishing. Sigh...

It took you a while to learn, but at least you learned. Be thankful for that and go fishing already.

Name: Anonymous 2015-09-05 5:55

Don't give up, tired-san!
You just need more amphetamines!

I know, right.

It doesn't matter what you do, you're always someone else's bitch in the end, working on another monotonous, pointless software project.

Live frugally and retire at 35. Then neet it out for the rest of your ife.

That's kind of what I'm doing, plus I just bought 850 ounces of silver and 7 ounces of gold in the past few months, and will keep building up my stack.

When gold hits $5000/ounce, and silver $100-$200/ounce in the next decade or so, I'll be able to retire before 40.

All of the people who sunk money into a retirement plan will retire with nothing. Suckers!

The fault, dear >>1-chan, is not in our stars, but in our selves. You think that it is the world's function to entice you, which could not be further from the truth. It is up to you to find what thrills and glories that you way want. Don't give up on that, >>1-chan, because if you do, you are giving up on yourself, and even if you don't believe in yourself, I do. Take a risk. Don't get caught up in the assembly line life. Likewise, don't do like >>4,8,9, who would rather waste away in ``early retirement'' like race horses that broke their legs and got put to pasture until the glue factory could arrange to buy them. These types of people are the worst. When I think of them, I think of some horrible abomination with their limbs cut off, with a conveyor belt dumping sewage in their mouths, which they happily eat because it's the only think they know how to do. No, that not even a terrible way to live, it's just a terrible, slow way to die. Instead, lead a life of action and excitement, >>1-chan. Cause as much chaos as possible. Don't be afraid to dress like a girl in public. Don't be afraid to exploit others. If developing SCALABLE TURNKEY [u]SOLUTIONS[/o] makes you want to drink bleach, then that's fine. But don't let it make you give up! Instead, undermine your company, poach their clients, then start your own company doing the same thing, but getting other people to do the work for you. By making other people miserable, you put yourself on higher ground. A falling tide lowers all boats, as the wise men say.

I always knew it would be more fulfilling to become a crossdressing prostitute.

But contracts!

Contracts are just lines on paper. Besides that, it isn't as if you'll go to prison for breaking them. I mean, you should make some sort of effort to abide by the terms and show some amount of good faith, but too much respect is just as unhealthy as too little. Do you think that they would religiously honor a contract that they made with you, if it was advantageous to them to break it. I once worked at a company that promise everyone stock, but after everyone was vested and the company was ready to sell, they gave us all a decision to either give up their shares or get fired. Did that really happen to me? No, it did not. But the point is that it could have happened to me -- it could happen to anyone. So fuck contracts and do what's best for you.

Consulting is prostitution. You are withholding knowledge from people and demanding people to pay you money before words flow out of your mouth. Trade secrets (proprietary knowledge) keeps your business making more and more money (keeping your customers stupid). This is all discussed on GNG is Not GNU. A cross dressing prostitute is virtually the same thing as a software consultant: you're fooling yourself thinking you're worthwhile in society.

Name: Anonymous 2015-09-14 7:52

Consulting is prostitution in the same way that working a job is prostitution: you're flogging yourself off. Anarchism 101, dudes.

The movie with Mick Jagger in it shows how we are all prostitutes..

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0265307/

He ends up working as a escort but realizes working as an escort is no different from working a regular day job mopping floors. It's a very good movie. Has life lessons in it.
