What kind of school do you go to? It was a phenomenon when half the class showed up at mine.
Why not work for a small company or a startup instead of Jewburg & Shekelstine inc?
"Academia" is a scam.
Global Warming is a hoax.
Anxiety about what? That you're not enough of a normie?

OP here. I appreciate your sincere opinion. I'm just looking for help. My first job was in a large aerospace corporation as a programmer and I was somewhat traumatized. At my school, a well-known Canadian university, an exam for an introductory Java course had a 39% average on the first exam and a cumulative average of about 65% at the end of the course. Do you have any documentaton to prove global warming is a hoax? It would calm me down a lot, I worry a lot about the world being screwed if the global warming theory is true. In exchange I have this interesting link for you by John McCarthy inventor of Lisp: http://www-formal.stanford.edu/jmc/progress/

Probably my problem is that I'm not enough of a normie, worried about being poor and unemployed and sick. I have been taking antipsychotics.. I worry about being a retard too, since I was a little boy I wanted to become a programmer. My proudest achievement so far is I wrote a C compiler from scratch but I still feel like a retard. Here's another global warming skepticism resource you may find interesting http://www.takenbystorm.info/

I have worked on the MS Windows operating systems team in Redmond. I have also contributed to the Linux Mint operating system and the MATE desktop environment.

I hope you are not angry at me, I feel like people hate me all the time.

global warming is not a hoax

It seems like it just recently became cool to deny it. I don't really get it. Pollution is going to destroy the planet if we don't sort it out.

holy fuck

that's a really big challenge and super cool that you did it. You're not a retard.

Fuck off, nothing we do is going to "destroy teh planit" short of underground bajilliton explosions.

Pollution and global warming are two totally separate things. The former is man-made, the latter is just natural climate cycles that humanity has no part of.

school is super competitive, cutthroat environment.
who cares about school?
work is like this corporation they want to increase profits every year, more and more millions.
human nature, in a capitalist society
academia is just publish or perish.
if you say so
global warming, carbon dioxide
won't really affect you much in your lifetime, other than people forcing you to decrease your carbon footprint
so much anxiety
how do i escape?
take LSD or psilocybin, many people who try those drugs feel that it changed their outlook on life to a more positive one
thank you

They're not entirely separate, but complex thinking is too much effort for most people.

Have you tried not giving a fuck?

It's like some people don't have their own personality and sovereign will at all and instead adopt whatever bullshit randomly penetrates their skulls. From "you must be competitive in school" (and what happens if you're not?) to "you must worry about global warming" (and what does that change? I mean, if you care beyond voting once every two years, which is pretty much the limit of what you can do?).

I appreciate your advice. I have mental health issues. I was worried a lot about failing school because it is a competitive program where a lot of people are weeded out. Thank you

Yes they are. Carbon dioxide does not cause global warming for several reasons: 1) its integral absorbance at infrared frequencies is much lower than that of a water molecules - wates is a much more powerful greenhouse gas than CO2 2) it's very heavy (44 vs 28 and 32 for nitrogen and oxygen, the main components of air) so most of carbon dioxide is concentrated in places where it cannot absorb any light - underground (which is why a fire will go out when descending into a mine) and underwater. Yes, most of carbon dioxide is actually happily dissolved in the hydrosphere. 3) its concentrations have already been much higher in the history of Earth, they were 10 times higher between 150 and 200 mil. years ago, and 20 times higher 600 mil. years ago - the Earth didn't melt, life wasn't extinguished, everything went fine.

So anyone who believes that carbon dioxide levels are the principle driver of global warming is simply uneducated. If there's anything carbon dioxide does, it's improving the rates of photosynthesis, making plants grow faster.

Since thanks for the information. Any source? Is there anything that I should actually worry about?

It seems still good to get off petroleum, what if it runs out by the end of the century? They are building hydroelectric dams in China... Here in Canada too it's excellent, most electricity is from hydro so we should be safe..

Then get weeded out and stop subjecting yourself to situations that you can't deal with properly given your mental state.

My theory is that most power plants boil water to drive turbines (coal, gas, nuclear). The more power we make, the more water vapor we hoist into the atmosphere.

It's probably wrong, but hey, fuck you.

I'm just trying to help you know, why are are people always so mean with me? If you disagree with me, counterargue in a constructive way. People always fucking hate me, why? What did I do to offend you?

Don't be upset. You sound like a good guy. The internet amplifies the bad and casually discards the good.

For example, post a beautiful program, and if you're lucky 1 progrider might talk meaningfully about it with you. If you are *very* lucky, you might get 2.

The rest of the interactions will unproductive or negative. A dozen or so posters will bike shed and nit pick irrelevant things. A dozen more will spam. A dozen more will insult.

In short, 1 or 2 people at most will care about what you have done. Your beautiful work won't propagate, won't be seen, won't be thought about.

Compare this to posting a maymay or stupid joke. Because it is easily digested, it has a good chance of spreading through the internet like wildfire.
