ITT we would discuss programming topics as in a normal subreddit. If there are trolls just ignore their posts and report them to mods. Please be civil and refrain from juvenile humor.
Isn't programming itself a form of trolling to the code architects who envisioned their programming languages/compilers/iherpreters to be used in according to their language paradigms? Does it TRIGGER the people who designed the C preprocessor, the levels of abuse and dirty hacks it been put through?
If you are getting trolled by reading /prog/ - reddit has plenty of safe, moderated strict on-topic subreddits beyond r/programming. Every moderately popular language and framework has one. I'm reading r/C_programming right now for example and its far friendlier and productive at actually discussing programming.
