-Intel big layoffs
-Microsoft and Apple first profits decline in decades
-San Francisco real estate market saturated (valuation already going down)
-Hipster startups not being funded anymore

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science probably deals with system automation and mid-level systems design. So it makes sense to expose modern systems via web interfaces instead of through gdi32 or however the fuck Windows works.

I still think the web is inherently a non-secure and non-stable environment. No project responsible for life and limb under my arm would ever use web tech for anything other than information dissemination.

I pray they're being taught web security because I know they're not (properly)
