Nasdaq meltdown imminent

Name: Anonymous 2016-04-26 15:57

The golden age is coming back fellow progriders:
-Intel big layoffs
-Microsoft and Apple first profits decline in decades
-San Francisco real estate market saturated (valuation already going down)
-Hipster startups not being funded anymore

Enjoy the ride !

Allahu Ackbar!

And the cycle will begin anew in a decade or so, and repeat ad infinitum.

Sorry, but JavaScript is here to stay. It has already infected all branches of software engineering. Even Python is being slowly moved out of academia by JS.

fucking finally

Are you telling me Javascript is taking over academia?!

WHAT?!

Most of universities offer full length JS courses now. Are you living in the past?

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science probably deals with system automation and mid-level systems design. So it makes sense to expose modern systems via web interfaces instead of through gdi32 or however the fuck Windows works.

I still think the web is inherently a non-secure and non-stable environment. No project responsible for life and limb under my arm would ever use web tech for anything other than information dissemination.

I pray they're being taught web security because I know they're not (properly)

Fuck, this reeks of marketing.
Daily reminder that education in the US is not a right but a product to buy.

E+CS engineers don't usually have time to fuck with any sort of back or fronted only the customer will see, it's a waste.

Education is already basically free. It's called the internet, gen.lib.rus.ec, and the public library. A university degree is a tangible investment and makes sense to be a product. Competition among universities is the reason the US has the best and all the smartest people from your shitty country come here for school.

Allahu Snackbar!

gen.lib.rus.ec are the russian crap pirates, latest book on compilers there is dated 2013.

Have there been any recent advancements in compiler technology? I don't think you're missing much, except for some Javashit cross-compiling bullshit.

Let me rephrase that, the right to acquire a diploma for your profession of choice.

I love the part where you claim it as an investment tough.
Just because it is, doesn't mean that the hefty tuition prices aren't retarded.

I'm getting all of this for free, combined with entry tests it is comparable to getting a grant to study at your oh-so-best universities.

People getting salty over this every single time, don't worry.

I've been able to find on libgen every book I've wanted, even out of print books. It's really amazing that this isn't some crowdsourced P2P shit and some Slavic gang members put together a more accessible library than Google Books or Kindle. I would say that if you can't find a book on there, you should torrent it, but I've never NOT found a book I wanted on there.

Another example we are in another dotcom bubble: about an year ago an xmpp client called "WhatsApp" was acquired by a ``social network'' called "Facebook" for around 20 billion dollars. A chat client.

"Investors" are lying to themselves about there being any underlying value this time. Very, very few "tech" companies even bother paying dividends, so everyone should know by now that the only way to make money on this shit is to sell it to someone else. And anyway, WhatsApp did actually make money, which is more than 99% of apping companies can say.

Facebook just announced record earnings from mobile advertising, grandpa. Still hurting you went bust in 2007 when your programming career collapsed and you've spent the last 8 years crying into your keyboard writing LISP?

Actually, a lot has happened in the field of compiling dynamic languages, so that Ruby could reach c-comparable speeds.

Gold near $1300 and silver near $18. Probably see a smash down Sunday night or early Monday, but if it recovers by Tuesday, it's going to the moon. DOW 4000 and Nasdaq 700 here we come.

Ruby can reach C-comparable speeds only when calling into a C library, Rubyfag.

Name: Anonymous 2016-04-30 7:19

The appers have achieved C-parity by slowing C down. I hear C89 even allows //Seeples style comments now. Why even bother writing C with such bloat? Use Forth.

Name: Anonymous 2016-04-30 7:21

This is what's happening right now.

Obama wants gulags for White people by 2017. He's also going to use the economic crisis as justification for suspending the November presidential elections, and declaring himself King Negro 4 Lyfe.

I'm pretty sure jewtube is the most reliable source on the Internet that's ever been created.

Don't change these.
