tiling window managers

one of the most convenient things I use at work is a terminal multiplexer. whether it's something simple like terminator or something more complex like screen, it's just a lot better than having to switch between fucking windows, tabs and virtual desktops. this got me thinking about applying the idea of a terminal multiplexer to the whole system and switching from floating windows to tiled windows, removing the bloat that comes with most of desktop environments in process.

is there a /prog/-approved TWM? is there a TWM that has shit I need? shit I need is:
- fairly small footprint because I need to run heavy background processes (builds, decompilation, fuzzing, bruteforce)
- built-in support for multiple monitors
- no problems running X-based GUI programs (I need to browse /prog/ at work)
- mouse support (I need to browse /prog/ at work)
- It Just Works (it's supposed to be convenient, I don't want to recompile it or rewrite configuration files that are in Lua/Haskell/Lisp/Intercal every time I resize a window)
- still maintained (if an update to kernel/X/drivers breaks it, I don't want to fix it myself because I'm a lazy fuck)

If you weren't such a little sissy who's afraid of recompiling like 2KB of code, I'd recommend dwm.

i3wm is not bad.

it's not that I'm afraid of recompiling, it's just that I don't want to do it too often. if I can set it up, compile and keep it running then it's ok. if I have to recompile all the time, it's not worth it

No, it _is_ bad.

I've used xmonad and dwm, both are excellent though xmonad has problems with Java.

xgonad is bloated Haskal shit.

Works fast enough. Lisp would probably be much slower.

It's fast and doesn't take much RAM but it pulls the entirety of Haskal and the kike Cabal as a dependence.

You might like awesome wm, which is practically a fancier dwm scriptable with lua, and probably the closest thing to JustWerks™ in tiling wms.

StumpWM is fast. Haskell is shit.

It has gotten incredibly bad in the last couple of months. They have reached critical mass and can now sustain their own threads and attract more of their cancer.

I see they're going to attempt immersion cooling in thermal paste.

Sad isn't it. The same faggots probably complained about Reddit posting on 4chan back then.
