It's 2016, you shouldn't be running Linux anymore.
FreeBSD is where it's at nowadays (or so I heard, I haven't actually bothered to install it on my ThinkPAD yet). But yeah, FreeBSD on your laptop and OpenBSD on your router.

Windows doesn't work. It's a piece of shit that's more difficult to administer for home use than Linux is these days. Fuck Microsoft, fuck Windows, and fuck you.
"You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you’ll fall like overripe fruit into our hands." -- Nikita Khrushchev

>>22 She's right though. Modern Windows operating systems are bloated, insecure, untrustworthy, and unreliable. And with Wine, Linux can easily beat Windows at its own game. And the package managers most Linux distributions come with allow you to download and install programs with a single terminal command, whereas doing the same takes a minimum of like 9 mouse clicks over a period of several minutes on Windows.
Since Win10 screwed over my mom's laptop, I tried putting Linux on there instead, since I'm so sick of Windows' shenanigans. She can play her Facebook games much smoother now, and the printer & scanner stuff she needs to use occasionally is easier. Wifi is simpler for her to switch or restart when the open connection she uses fritzes out. I'm the one fixing her computer when things go screwy, and there's been far fewer times I've had to go see what's wrong with her box. It doesn't just sit there and hang or slow down randomly, and doesn't break like Windows loved to do on occasion.
Linux is easier and better than Windows even for Grandmother-tier computer usage.
Venezuela is the experiment. The economic/food crisis is artificial and it's being done to force collectivization. The US plans on doing the same to its own citizens after it seizing all of the guns. Enjoy toiling in the fields 120 days a year without pay.

>>6-9 My biggest issue with systemd is that its developers are all too eager to force controversial policy decisions on their users. The most visible contributors to the project clearly seem to think that everyone ought to be running GNOME on a Fedora^HRed Hat system. This is especially problematic because the GNOME developers have a very narrow vision for how their systems ought to be used.
Technically, I think having so much the core system composed of few complex, tightly coupled components should give people pause. The systemd approach tends to produce systems that are opaque and difficult for users to effectively reconfigure or manage. This may not be a concern if you're a Red Hat employee, but others aren't keen on surrendering control of their systems to a small elect group of developers.
