Can an AI be a better president?

Name: Anonymous 2016-11-09 18:23

Seriously, Donald Duck IQ and temper tantrums vs Calm Rational AI that considers all aspects of a problem.
Basically, if DeepMind can play Go as well as top humans, why can't it play politics/state management better than aging boomers?

Name: Anonymous 2016-11-09 18:41

Would an AI be better at keeping its lies straight than a typical politician?

It won't be a better president if it can't even pass the turing test.

Do you really want your lives to be controlled by some opaque algorithm developed by and with a strong corporate bias? Are you really that masochistic?

That's no way to talk about Trump!

The rules of Go are simple and black and white. The rules of acting as president are extremely complex and shades of grey.

while an AI could potentially be a more efficiten problem solver than a politician, it's not the efficiency of problem solving that is the biggest problem with. the problem with politics is the moral and philosophical one - which set of virtues should guide us? what do we prioritize? even if we reject purely ideological factors like tradition (although some would argue that such rejection is also an ideological choice) and limit ourselves to measurable, utilitarian factors like wealth, many questions still remain - for example, how do we measure wealth? is it capital or income? do we care about total, mean or median? should we adjust for inflation? should we care about what this money can actually buy? achieving results is easier than deciding on what results to achieve.

Strong AI will never happen in our lifetimes.

I used to hate Donald Trump and didn't vote for him, but yesterday I changed my mind when I realized how changed the world is now. I was able to tell a homosexual at work to fuck off and they didn't argue or bitch like they usually would. The subhumans are learning their place. Yes, this is a very emotional reason to support him, but fuck it, it counts.

They are surprisingly complex: http://senseis.xmp.net/

Trump has an IQ of 156, he's just your typical INTJ autist like most of /prog/ (except for that feminist ENTJ faggot) so he stumbles with his words sometimes, or can't find the right word to use. He's a deep thinker, not some faggot who pretends he's smart.

He played 12D chess against the establishment, the media, the big banks, the tech companies and the colleges and university campuses, and he won. Give credit where credit is due.

If there's anyone throwing a temper tantrum right now, it's all of the dumb liberals and leftists in the big cities who are rioting, smashing windows, burning cars and holding marxist protests full of violent rhetoric.
