the article starts off by making a bit of sense - free software zealotry is not the path everyone can take because sometimes either only proprietary software is available to do what you need to do or the free alternatives are clearly inferior. then it goes into the typical lefist bullshit about the evils of individualism and how free software movement would succeed if it tied its already niche ideology with even more niche revolutionary socialism, nevermind that the overlap between FOSS developers and socialists is minimal and the movement is full of libertarians.

Free software is as perfect as you want it to be. If you invest nothing into your free software, then it's obvious that the quality of your free software is as good as what other people have invested into it; if you do nothing, you will only get what other people have done for their own purposes. If you have different purposes, then you need to make it happen with your own resources.
