Firts language to learn?

I want to learn a programming language but I dunno where to start. Many people suggested me python and C. Are they good for a beginner? Books suggestions are welcomed too.

I'd say those are good choices for the completely opposite reasons: C is good because you'll need to learn about inner workings of computers if you want to be good with it, Python on the other hand is easy and has a lot of useful libraries so you'll be able to quickly make something that works. you should also try a lisp - Scheme is a popular choice due to its simplicity but if you're going to be learning Python then Hy will be easier to understand - because it teaches you interesting and potentially useful concepts like functional programming and metaprogramming

YOU SHOULD START BY LEARNING LAMBDA CALCULUS TO GET A SOLID FOUNDATION.
