Real AI

Why is goal of Real AI is to be human-like(or human brain like)?
Did the first submarine had fish fins?
Was the goal of wright brothers imitating a bird?
Its like the entire field of machine learning is set to create mechanical birds.
Imitating art, without creating anything from itself.

Except that's not the goal of AI. But instead it's to display cognitive awareness.
Because humans posses it, it might seem like they want human like intelligence.

Obviously because humans are the smartest known mammal.

Because purely discrete approaches to AI have failed, resulting into the AI Winter. So now they use various statistical approaches, which resemble processes in animal brain.
