How do you know that DuckDuckGo doesnt track you?

Name: Anonymous 2017-10-26 20:29

How is this different than situation with WhatsApp, when facebook purchased it, promised not to sell users' info, and then did it anyway? DDG is anonymous just because they say it is, there's no way to prove it.

We really need a separate /tech/ board for threads like this.

Name: Anonymous 2017-10-26 20:49

We do. It's called /lounge/.

Nah, just use one large board and make all threads go there. Any capable /prog/rammer can write a customizable thread hider, replicating the functionality of any number of boards.

How do you know that DuckDuckGo doesnt track you?
They do. Anyone recommending it is a retard.
Look up the founder of DDG and his adventures in data mining. If you want real privacy, go with startpage.

I am going to do what startpage does and use the google api, and place it in my firefox home page.

How is google API different from google websight from privacy standpoint?

It is not.

Name: Anonymous 2017-11-01 21:16

Startpage proxies the api. That's the entire point.

Don't change these.
