Implement diff

[code]diff

done!
easy af in unix

Sounds like a good idea.
Good programming languages can interact well with the shell, so this makes sense

Why limit yourself to one criteria by which to judge programming languages? Have you ever heard of different solutions for different problems?

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-04 21:27

1st of all, unix is not a programming language.
2nd of all, using builtins that solve the problem is DISALLOWED.
You fool! You clown! You blockhead! You dunce! You got pwned.

It's a scripting language which is close

lets see these guys implement diff

No yacc? No lex? Edited on 05/12/2017 08:46.

You obviously never installed gentoo. Maybe plebs use Unix as a somewhat convenient and virus-free operating system, but we, the power users, know how to use it as a powerful programming language.

An operating system is not a programming language.

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-06 5:19

Shell scripting doesn't count.

An operating system can be whatever you want if you have the skills and the imagination.
Right now I have ~12 terminals open but you probably don't even know what it is. I guess you have a ubuntu with VLC and Firefox and that's fine but you can't program with that.

And I can imagine having a pet unicorn in my backyard, and go around telling people this before being placed in a straitjacket. Doesn't make it so. Hopefully, for your sake, you're receiving the mental healthcare you need.

you must be an e/g/in pro/g/rammer, /g/ro!

>can't program in Unix
>call me a fool
I can output an infinite stream of random bytes with Unix and use it as a signal. With pipes and tee I can build a NAND gate and from there I can compute anything. And that's only one way of programming Unix, I can show you a thousand more.
You, you probably have a dual boot with Window$ and will never get to know the true power of Unix.

who are you quoting?

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-06 8:55

You can't program in Unix so you probably can't program in BBCode or chanspeak either.

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-06 8:58

Who are you quoting? And what you're describing is done by the shell, very flexible and powerful, to be sure, but is not the operating system itself.

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-06 9:00

Everything can be a programming language and Turing-completeness is everywhere for those who can see. I'm done with losing my precious time with the unenlightened.

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-06 9:02

weird machine is not a programming language. weird machine is emergent, programming languages are designed.

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-06 9:11

>>18
The shell is just, you know, a shell, an abstraction. If you can't see Unix through it, I'm not the one to blame.
>>20
All I need to build the world is a good old AT&T keyboard and an interrupt signal.

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-06 9:38

I can make a programming language out of your (accurately predictible) replies.

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-06 9:45

but can you implement diff?

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-06 14:01

I implemented it on a duck. Quack quack motherfuckers.

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-07 9:03

ducks are bloated use a chicken instead

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-07 9:05

I prefer Racket

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-07 13:28

>>27
Have chickens even been proven Turing complete?

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-07 13:33

>>29
chicken scheme

Don't change these.
