my job is pretty comfy. I do offensive security shit for embeded and also write programs that automate a lot of the repetitive tasks (attack surface analysis, fuzzing, triaging, initial crash analysis). I'm deep inside a debugger now and it's fun, but when the automated tools are running I spend more time shitpoasting on /prague/ than working, and that's fun too. I just wish the pay was better

Yeah that was me. I made almost no effort at the time though. Recently I've made a plan. Gonna write something to replace the software we buy where I work. I'm going to get it to a somewhat functional point and email the company that sells it asking if they want to hire me. My application is designed to have functionality theirs doesn't. If that doesn't work I'll give up on software as a career and open source it.
