I'm sick of FF using as much memory as everything else combined.

This is a myth, as you can easily see if you install something like uMatrix and block all JS and third-party requests. Most of the good web stays usable. Occasionally, you have to unblock some CSS here and there but that's it. Blocking cookies kills way more websites for the most ridiculous of reasons. If you think the web consists mostly of Web 7.0 shit, you need to stop visiting garbage sites.

When did this happen? Last time I checked (about three years ago?) they had JS enabled by default and re(!)configured NoScript to blacklisting mode. All the while hacking on ``privacy improvements'' like changing the JS runtime to return a random timezone to prevent timezone tracking. Because yes, obviously that is the problem, not that you're randomly executing code from the Internet over a random proxy.
