JavaScript is the future

Back a decade ago, people really hated JavaScript and no one thought real software would be developed on it.
What changed?

scripting consoles turned browsers into IDEs with low skill floor, HTML5 more or less allowed 'frontend programming' to be a job of its own instead of simple scripting on top of a design, NodeJS made people unfamiliar with anything else able to write server software and Electron allowed them to write desktop programs. it doesn't make the language less shit though

If someone told me in 2008 that AutoCAD is being rewritten in JS as a web app, I would consider him a delusional jester.
