Technocracy

Only programmers should be allowed to become leaders.

Name: Anonymous 2018-05-31 19:20

Only if they can implement fibs in 5 characters or less.

the weak should fear the strong

Computer scientists are better than programmers.

Oh, please. Spare me the ``programmers aren't the same as developers'' bullshit. There are too many bullshit titles and made-up distinctions about terms like programmer, computer scientist, infosec rockstar, cloud engineer, cloud evangelist, machine learning guru, 10x developer, devops thoughtlord, and so on.

Name: Anonymous 2018-05-31 22:31

Programmers are the same as developers, Computer Scientists however are not the same as either.

Name: Anonymous 2018-05-31 22:38

>>6
Computer scientists who are not developers are useless theorists stuck in the ivory tower of academia.

replacing brainlets with another type of brainlet isn't very productive. programmers are literally bottom of the STEM barrel.

how about philosophy, economics, or pure mathematics Ph.D.s. ideally I think we need people highly trained in logic to be making decisions.

Name: Anonymous 2018-05-31 22:42

inb4 muh && || == operators means I'm good at logic

really great idea of putting socially impaired autists in charge of millions of people

Philosophers must rule, reluctantly.

One word:
One word, THE RELUCTANT RULE OF PHILOSOPHERS, thread over.
One word, THE REPEATING OF HISTORY AS FARCE, thread over.
One word, THE FORCED IDENTATION OF CODE, thread over.
One word, THE BENIGN INDIFFERENCE OF THE UNIVERSE, thread over.

I used to have a zillion of these, which I'd just make up for each book or chapter I'd read.

economics
Useless jew degree.

philosophy
So.. logic? You might as well get a CS degree.

pure mathematics Ph.D.s
Of which a subset are the CS PhDs.

What would society look like if popular CS figures ruled?

Imagine a society ruled by old-school freetards like Eric S. Raymond or Richard Stallman.

Or compare that to what it'd be like if we had modern tech elites in charge instead -- people who are pro-proprietary, pro-data mining, like Zuckerberg.

A good technocracy would involve people like RMS, who care more about morals and freedom -- as opposed to business-oriented people like Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg, and so on.

Three king theory.

Jupiter/Zeus - Philosophy
Pluto/Hades - Economy
Neptune/Poseidon - ???

Can't figure the puzzle.

In my system there are 12 "powers", which I divide into 4 classes for better memorization.

Rider: Mover, Brute, Striker
Archer: Blaster, Thinker, Breaker
Caster: Shaker, Changer, Tinker
Ruler: Master, Stranger, Trump

I often sign as Archer when I need to, but I'm not purely Archer. It is possible to reach one power through another, such as Brute through Changer, but there are some that are more "pure" and fundamental than others, without which one does not get very far.

Breaker breaks physics or the usual rules, and it's quite a power. You can reach it with Tinkering or Thinking, just as other technological / martial advances can be achieved with these two. The difference between Tinkering and Thinking is that Tinkering requires experimentation, and Thinking is more to do with pure logic, mathematics and sometimes "common sense".

Trump knows how to mess with powers, nullify or potentialize the powers of others. Some psychological intuition is necessary.

No. My RPG system is built on synergy and constructible multi-component spells, not on char classes.
The wiki is currently disabled, because i don't want to give the videogame industry any advantages on exploiting this mechanic.

Ruling is an organic function. The ruler's main role is delegating jobs correctly. The only skill needed for that is skill with people.

Your comparison is bad because divination is actually real and effective. The bad part is that in order to get any skill in it you will inevitably stop having selfish and greedy thoughts, once you start seeing the whole. That's why true divinators, or divine men, are usually so rare, and not to be bought.

Don't change these.
