When you feel trapped, you obsess over the small things you have control over.

Programmers obsess over IDEs, compilers, shells, programming languages, CPUs, operating systems, and so on.

But what about houses? What about a wife? What about socialization? What about hobbies? When your life lacks meaning, you cling to the few things you have. In our case, computers.
