When you feel trapped, you obsess over the small things you have control over.
Programmers obsess over IDEs, compilers, shells, programming languages, CPUs, operating systems, and so on.
But what about houses? What about a wife? What about socialization? What about hobbies? When your life lacks meaning, you cling to the few things you have. In our case, computers.

Plebeians obsess over houses, wives, socialization, TV. When their life lacks meaning, they cling to the few things they have. In their cases, other people.

I don’t belong in this category. I don’t obsess about anything I keep it 1000. I’m not some nerd that cares what compiler or what language he’s using. I use the right tool for the job.
math > coding
This coding shit is just baby play time compared to the real hard work my nigga.

programming as a hobby can be as meaningful or meaningless as any other hobby, even if it's not socially validated (although it kinda is now, given the 'hipster SJW javashit developer with a macbook' trend). stop craving validation, make your're are own meaning, read Nietzsche and ram those progs if you like - or do something else if you don't.
