I wonder how many millions of unsold floppy disks are rotting away in warehouses. This sounds like a marketing scam.

I think it has to do with being upset with the way modern life is.
Besides, it's hard to convince people to pay money for digital copies of music nowadays. They need some sort of gimmick.
