Google Authentication Pitfalls

Funny but I lost more email accounts to Google's 2FA, than to actual hackers. It happened before, but these were simple disposable accounts, used for stuff like registering IRC nicknames. But lately I failed to login into account linked to my Paypal, which requires email confirmation when logging in from devices with unknown fingerprint.

It says "This device isn't recognized. For your security, Google wants to make sure it's really you." and offers no way of recovering access besides using cell phone, which was seized by police, when Russia charged me with "terrorism".

Good job, Google!!! It requires special talent to mess up something as simple as password authentication.

I complained at official Gmail support forum, but only got some typical tech-support scam message from spammers, promising to recover Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail emails (guess Yahoo and Hotmail are on par with Google at torturing their users).

Still I have myself to blame for relying on Google services. Before that Google banned me at Youtube under a pretense of "hate speech" for making a video criticizing Russia in Russian language. I'm Russian myself and I'm not allowed to criticize Russians? No idea if that incident is related to Google blocking my email account, although it could be.

TLDR: don't rely on your Gmail or Paypal being available when FSB gets on your tail. Good luck and be careful.

I don't even have 2fa enabled in my google accounts and yet, it randomly locks me out from some browsers in some computers. For example, it lets me connect using thunderbird and normal passwords via imap but it will absolutely refuse to let me connect via firefox in the same machine (it will start asking me irrelevant questions that I did not even ask to have - even insisting on sending me an sms, and even after replying correctly it will say that they could not verify my account).
So yeah, I even had my phone but could not connect to my google account.

Yes. But sine then I have accepted the burden of being Russian and my mission of exposing the Russian evils. You too could become Russian by speaking to Russians about their evil. Russian is one who cares for Russian nation. You don't even have to speak Russian.
