>>6This is their choice however
choice? oh boy
yeah, people choose to be born into a society that facilitates and normalizes those bad things, and in some cases, makes it unavoidable, at least to some degree
in school, kids "learn" about dumb shit like dead presidents, but schools have coca cola vending machines, yet they conveniently don't teach about tooth decay, diabetes, obesity, kidney stones, and shit like that
capitalists do their best to indoctrinate society into thinking their products are good
some people even live in "food deserts" where there aren't any real grocery stores available, so they have no choice but to eat unhealthy food
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_desertfurthermore, many people's modern jobs require being indoors, in cramped areas, often with bad air and asbestos and lead tap water, so they are forced to be indoors or look at screens or develop arthritis or carpal tunnel or other problems associated with typing and sitting for long periods of time, etc.
modernity i snot a choice -- you have to participate in it
this is why I am in favor of traditionalism -- opting out of all this bullshit
Do you have medical education?
let's say someone is depressed because their life sucks and they're poor
they go to the doctor and they say their depression is ONLY caused by chemical imbalances
are they retarded? or just profiteering?
“Imagine a society that subjects people to conditions that make them terribly unhappy then gives them the drugs to take away their unhappiness. Science fiction It is already happening to some extent in our own society. Instead of removing the conditions that make people depressed modern society gives them antidepressant drugs. In effect antidepressants are a means of modifying an individual's internal state in such a way as to enable him to tolerate social conditions that he would otherwise find intolerable.”
