How retarded you can be to design an entire architecture like this? Its like a zoo of objects, daemons and libraries that break on a whim and require kde-based programs to anally deform themselves to be dependent on kde components. They also crash alot.

Use a tiling window manager unless you want to suffer. I suggest xmonad.

To clarify, i never used KDE(except maybe briefly in the past testing some distros) or want to program in frameworks using KDE. I'm trying to understand why KDE software fails to works and its architecture is infuriatings. For example KDE processes don't launch other programs. They use a "Klauncher" which i can't make to work, and i installed a dozen KDE libraries.

vendor lock-in, gnome is attempting the same shit on a smaller scale (by not requiring gnome itself, instead requiring systemd)

I've already have pocketsphinx, to preemptively answer "why i'm not using it" and sphinx4 is java-based pile of crap that i couldn't install. Simon is Qt-based and much smaller. The speech recognition software isn't used by me, its for my relatives who have problems typing (RSI i think).

I do not understand why anyone would want something other than i3.

KDE has always been shitty browser toolbar malware tier shit
I really don't get the point of using a DE (or a unix-like as a desktop for that matter), but gnome and KDE have always been in a class of their own in terms of rubbish

KDE has Konqi; a kute dragon is its most redeeming feature, I fantasise kuddling him.
