If you spend 2 years learning tools from the 80s and configuring them, you might almost be as productive as with an IDE. You will spare 500MiB though.

If I had to choose between dropping VS for emacs or getting fucked in the ass, I'm choosing the latter 100% of the time. Are things different in Javaland, where there are two competing IDEs, one made by inbred midgets, and the other by stackOverflow pajeets?
