Here is some guy made a browser clone of Age of Empires:
https://feudalwars.net/It is broken in its own way in each browser. Doesn't work in Firefox at all.

It worker in previous Firefox version. And kinda works in Safari.
Guess HTML5 can replace Java.

It works fine in Firefox, at least until the part you have to register to play which is where I drew the line and said no.

Many moons ago I was playing Age of Empires II.
I mentioned to my fellow players that I enjoyed just watching the villagers go about their lives and didn't feel like engaging in a war.
Shunned, war commenced.
Distant objects->destroy()'d for entertainment.
