I have been using Ghidra and it's better in every way except it doesn't have a debugger or as convenient of a way to patch binaries. I can't believe people actually paid 10k for that garbage.

Most of the time you only need a debugger to quickly check the registers at some position and leave. GDB/WinDBG/LLDB are good enough for this.
