Does anyone actually know how GIT works? We just click commit click mergge, but the whole system is a Touring-complete bloated entity. Just google secret GIT commands and see what you are missing. Nobody except Lisp wizards known how GIT really works.

Only use it occasionally but I've never had to click anything.

git is just a bunch of shell scripts which evolved into a versioning system. but underneath it's all files, directories and shit.

Our company actually switched from git to just using diff and patch and sftp about 6 months ago for simplicity. In my estimate, most people have been pretty happy with the change and have less technical problems.
