I think in absolute terms not relative.

Why would you do that? This cripples your design tools. If you look at it relatively you can precalculate stuff and trade space for speed, for example.

I don't care about my computer: If it's slow I change it if it breaks I change it. Only the data on it interests me. It's a tool to work the data as efficiently as possible. If it's dull I sharp it.

There must be smart people leading. 90% of humans are very stupid. Oligarchs aren't optimal but they're already in power and tend to be above average intelligence so you can focus on being productive. If you want to establish a new leader you're going to spend all your time playing politics and none of it actually changing the world.
