VS code only uses 100 MB, that's nothing, and if you don't like that go back to the 80s and tell someone who cares.

Based. Coincidentally I tried it yesterday for the first time after the atom thread. Features like the rename variable functionality are implemented which I've always missed outside of visual studio. There's an intelligent design of the user interface, it's responsive, extensible and the keybinds are sensible. This is solid, high quality software.

True. Shit scripting languages, complicated, badly thought out, not polished. Typescript is bad as well though. They should've used js: industry standard. They just couldn't keep themselves from sneaking m$ tek in.

100MB is absolutely acceptable for the functionality. A neat 1tb samsung nvme ssd is like 200$. Using 1/10000 of your space for a tool you use 1/2 of your day is a good investement.

This seems rather primitive. I searched it but couldn't find a project site nor a picture which was younger than 4 years. The only thing I found was some guy on r***t crying that he lost hours of work because the smoothbrains that write linux software are too shortsighted to imagine a crash.
