Playing the Touhou games

I'm confined and bored. I want to discover those games to not die ignorant. I watched some videos on Youtube. It looks hard as fuck even the first levels. How do you manage to make it alive through all the bullets and lasers? Seems impossible.

Nevermind, I'll disassemble a running image of the game, set infinite energy and lives and speedrun through every levels.

Installing an emulator is already a pain in the ass. I can't imagine what playing will be like.

What PC-98 emulutaor for Linux should I use?

I'll start with 6 as it's the first windows game and generally recommended. If it's too old i'll try the new one.

I find that games do get better with more iterations, certain titles just are remembered more fondly because they've been released at the right time. But to get the purest experience starting at the start is a good idea as stuff tends to loose soul on the way forth and stuff isn't as fun without context of experience of the prior games.

I just played 80% of Touhou 6 on easy and had a lot of fun.
