Modern OS hate thread

Name: retard 2021-04-03 14:16

Jesus Christ, I fucking hate this shitty OS for autistic neckbeards (Linux) so much. Unfortunately I'll still have to use it because Fagdows and Apple's fagOS is even worse.

>I've tried pretty much all fixes I could google (including the other answers to this question), but the only thing that helped was to install the hardware enablement stack:
>sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-utopic xserver-xorg-lts-utopic \
libegl1-mesa-drivers-lts-utopic xserver-xorg-video-all-lts-utopic \
xserver-xorg-input-all-lts-utopic

Fucking neckbeards.

Before I transitioned I had pretty strong ASD and couldn't figure out how to answer simple questions like "what's up?" or if I should wave to someone I've met twice if they're 15 feet away walking towards me.

Transitioning did something to my brain chemistry and let me read social cues nearly overnight, but I got friends by delving into the LGBT community. Maybe furry cons is a good approach?

I have no idea why it happened, I'm just so grateful it did. It was like suddenly seeing color for the first time. When I looked at someone, I could read their intentions and actually feel their feelings. I wasn't a sociopath before or anything, but I couldn't feel empathy.

This definitely does not happen to every aspie trans woman, but I've heard of it happening to one or two others.

I was worried about losing my intelligence, since I attributed a lot of that to ASD, but actually all my major breakthroughs came after transitioning. My first algorithm that got me noticed was like, 6 months in.

The only real downside was that switching to estrogen unmasked my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and I've become physically disabled. I'm still able to work and think and feel so it's a good trade for me!

Glad to hear that you got an issue fixed by a side effect. The problem is that you brought a ton of nasty stuff upon yourself, that you might not immediately recognise. Also the "community" might seem fine, friendly and whatever just until they back-stab you or start to outright exploit you. There is a reason they encourage all this, to produce vulnerable people that they would be able to control easily.
> furry cons
Well, if you want to become a complete savage, gain many toxic "friends", eventually accept paedophilia and bestiality and lose a lot of money and valuable lifetime to something utterly worthless, then why not.

Back on topic however:

Have you tried OpenBSD or NetBSD? My history of failed attempts to get into Linux is rather long. It just at some point refuses to work according to the description. Most recently, at the company I work for, I tried to set up a laptop for nothing more than e-mail, WWW browsing and LibreOffice. A Linux distribution with LXQT sounded like a no-brainer.

120 GB SSD on board, so I come up with a partition layout that makes sense - but no way to define /etc/fstab before installing, nor any options to enter bindings. Moving the root partition after installation = never-ending trouble with GRUB. Fuck GRUB! Fuck this piece of trash so much! When I was doing things manually at home, I always used LiLo and the same task was trivial. But I haven't so far found any distribution with out-of-the-box LXQT desktop that would use LiLo - and I will not be doing it manually, as I also have other, more complex tasks to do! So I gave up and installed Wincrap.

So far, in OpenBSD everything is as in the manuals. Also the manuals themselves are written much better than the Linux ones. If I fail at something, it is usually my fault. Most cases are documented, save for some very rare that maybe only I ever came up with.

NetBSD seems to have a much larger software library (including hardware drivers). Portage looks promising. I am slowly preparing to try it, but for now I am still practising on OpenBSD.

Dude, just get OpenVMS. It's been the best OS for the past four decades.

Nothing wrong with this.

and lose a lot of money and valuable lifetime to something utterly worthless
Just like any other hobby.

LOL. I would not be surprised if you happened to be a fan of snuff as well.

> Just like any other hobby
I would not call that a hobby, a more fitting term (although a very general one) would be "life activity". But anyway, your comment sounds like something either a charlatan or a fool would have said. "This is just the way he/she has chosen to live his/her life, as you have chosen yours blah blah blah", "you do you" or similar sort of nonsense that fools and ignorants love.

Because people doing scientific research, studying, gaining knowledge, engineering machines, working on solutions to solve actual, important real-life problems, providing health care or other life-critical services to the society, preserve or even create actual true art, etc. are just totally on an equal level to, for example, an obese neckbeard manchild that spends his life in a basement, devours trash "food", wastes money on gaymer garbage, funko pops, has a dakimakura and makes "love" to it, hardly does anything besides browsing/watching stupid bullshit on the Internet, playing video games and consuming pop-cultural pulp of garbage quality and behaves like a complete ass to whoever he is parasitising on, or some cumbrain that has no goal in his sad life other than constantly stimulate himself sexually, so pathetically desperate, that he actually pays real money for it.

Not all ways of life are equal. One can be productive, be able to deliver something useful or worthy to the world or at least one other human being. Others are going to deliver nothing at all to anybody, or worse, harm themselves and/or others. Finally there are those who are going o leave a poisonous legacy, capable of making the world even worse than it is already, or ruining the life of whoever picks it.
