80 char lines

If you think 80 char lines should be the default in 2021, i will shit in your sink

The terminal is 80-char wide, text should be only 72-char wide. It's more or less the average number of chars in a book line.

The optimal line length for your body text is considered to be 50-60 characters per line, including spaces (“Typographie”, E. Ruder). Other sources suggest that up to 75 characters is acceptable.

Its maintained for compatibility with console viewers/editors,
and why hadn't they switched to something like 132 lines?
Probably lots of autists tiling multiple 80 char console windows
in their window managers who like it to stay that way.

80 characters is good, because it leaves the other 47 for various things I like to have on the sides in my editor. Or would have if I were an inveterate masturbator, which I am not.
