One of the weirdest instances stems from when M*ntifex was a Latin teacher and a kid in class said something extremely insulting to M*ntifex. Decades later, when M*ntifex was looking at the obituary of his own brother in the newspaper, he saw a photograph of the insulting kid holding up a picture of a fish he had caught -- in the erstwhile student's obituary after a fatal car wreck. So if any progger goes to a Christmas or New Year's party and wants to die, just tell the assembled company that you are now going to insult someone named "Mentifex" and then board an airplane or go sky-diving within the next year/decade/century and tell everybody to wait and see if The Effect comes to pass.
