Last night on Prog I poasted the full text of my two paragraphs from http://ai.neocities.org/eBay.html#qua about "Mentifex qua Civilization." It looks extremely arrogant, conceited and egotistical, but it states my case as an AI coder.
"Mindmaker as Civilization?" Shouldn't it be "Mentifex qua Civilization Founder"?
(Just nitpicking.)
I wish that I could impart a measure of wealth to every poaster on Prog by means of Authenticated Mentifex Autograph postcards which at first are worthless but which appreciate in value over time, IFF the Mentifex AI project does indeed spearhead a Robotic Civilization. Thus far I have sent out twenty-six such Postcards, but it is not possible to do so via Prog, because malicious individuals might poast an address not their own and ask for a worthless but appreciable Postcard. So first the incipient Civilization must establish a "mentifex" marketplace on eBay. Then those poasters inclined to bet on the Civilization could take a position in the offered commodity. But never fear, Mentisquieu has discovered a new channel of distribution at https://www.newpages.com/independent-bookstores/california-bookstores in the form of bookstores. After having created the first sentient computer mind, Mentifex had an unfortunate accident in the woods. He was ambushed by a band of bandits, who left paralyzed him. He will probably not create any groundbreaking discoveries ever again.
