SEXIST?" day in and day out. At first it's easy to ignore but it just weighs on me after seeing it. At some point I go into one such thread with the idea I might talk some sense into them but before I know it I end up arguing for the opposing side when I really don't think there should be any side. I know my mistake but it's hard to break the natural human inclination towards tribalism. It previously manifested itself on the Internet in the form of console wars and arguments as to what was the best game development company but this current brand of incredibly vile political arguing makes that look tame and friendly.
Lately I've become somewhat numb to it so I think I might come around to following your advice sooner rather than later.
