>>3 Clickfest Neanderthals don't actually play games, they use the game to train their biological neural networks to react and click faster. Since there is nothing sentient except blind scan-react loop, it wouldn't be ethical to make gamers depend on it to win. Since scan-react reward-centric model optimizes away all conscious thought its not really a game but mind-raping session of forcing oneself to be a robot.
>>4 Faster click rate is indeed a stupid and grindy thing, but why are other reactions like aiming properly or easing off the gas pedal considered ``unethical''? They are an important component of real-life sports too, and that's what makes them fun.

>>7 A+ for Ableism. Sports aren't "fun", its a social construct that makes you believe all this training/trauma/effort isn't for nothing, that winning sports makes you better at something that isn't a useless statistic(like people who memorize Pi to thousands of digits). Without state sponsorship& commercial support for sports, they're as useless waste of human lives, buildings, time and cultural space.

>>8 This board is a social construct that makes you believe your post isn't for nothing.
Yes, my favorite game (Jedi Knight 3) passes all of these and it was made in 2003. We had a good industry landscape back then, but somehow it went downhill into who can rip off as many customers with the latest overly-hyped, bland, barely finished buggy mess that lacks any sort of real substance to it, microtransactions and paid DLC aside.
>>8 general athletic skill is not ``nothing'' no matter how much you got picked last in primary school. Modern televised sports are pretty dumb, but sport itself has an ancient purpose rooted in training warriors for combat. I'm sure you think self-expression is a useless social construct as well. Go fuck yourself retard.
>>16 Face it dude, sportsball is gay and for monkeys. I'm clearing 300k a year as a computer scientists, never even touched a sportsball. That's a real man.
>>17 Typical weakling. Prepare your body for the thunderdome, fagmo. Dollars will mean nothing to the man raping your wife at gunpoint in the aftermath of Donald Trump's glorious presidency.
I always wished I'd been alive to see in real time how self-righteous and whiny leftists got when W took the electoral college his first term. I'm so glad history repeats, it's better than I could have imagined.
>>24 Actually scratch that, I'm just glad to be alive under a republican president at all. The way the media was talking about demographics it seemed like there would literally be zero republican presidents in my life. Thank god the people are still red pilled enough.

Most of the accounts Mr Trump follows are members of his family, buildings he owns or Fox News presenters.
rump has made it clear that it didn't sit well with him when Obama recently boasted that he would have won the election if he'd been running.

A shame almost all MMORPGs revolve around killing monsters for profit. Why this paradigm of mandatory violence is so pervasive? Couldn't there be a purely social MMO(like Second Life minus the digital economy)? A mmo where you only grow and play with pets? A MMO where you just solve puzzles? A MMO where you only explore mysteries/dungeons/travel?

>>52 multiplayer with a central server means that you don't ever connect to misconfigured shit, and you have no trouble finding other people to play with
it's also more effective against removing hackers from the game, because there's a very large banlist instead of 1000 server-specific banlists
the only "freedom" you're giving up by playing a closed-source game is your freedom to fuck around instead of playing the game and if you wanted to fuck around, do something else with your time instead of playing games
the only "freedom" you're giving up by playing a closed-source game is your freedom to fuck around
Wrong 1.The freedom to mod games, without any limits - closed source games impose artificial limits and 'hardcode' many things. 2.The freedom to play anywhere, anytime and host your private servers. Independence from commercial/official servers. 3.The freedom to create any maps/scenarios/data files and play them without being censored, limited or banned. 4.The ability to update/modify the source code, fix bugs and develop the game further, after the developers/companies abandon it or cease publishing. 5.The freedom to learn programming tricks and cool hacks/ideas from examining source code and applying it in other games/software.

>>57 When you play a multiplayer game with certain rules that are supposed to be evenly applied to all players, it's sensible to have an arbiter of what actions are considered valid and it's sensible for the server to be that arbiter. Most people would not consider it sportsmanlike for individual players to play under actions that "ruin the spirit of the game" or are otherwise not available for the rest of the players.
If you're playing a single player video game, it's very sensible for you to pick and choose how you want the game to work. You get to choose the spirit of the game you want for yourself as your rules don't impede on any other person's sense of the game.
