C# identifiers can include Unicode escape sequences (\u1234 etc) C# identifiers can include Unicode characters in the category โOther, formattingโ (Cf) but these are ignored when comparing identifiers for equality The Mongolian Vowel Separator (U+180E) has oscillated between the Cand Zs categories a couple of times
When discussing this, Vladimir Reshetnikov mentioned the Mongolian Vowel Separator (U+180E) which has had an interesting life. It was introduced in Unicode 3.0.0, when it was in the Cf category (โother, formattingโ). Then in Unicode 4.0.0 it was moved into the Zs (separator, space) category. In Unicode 6.3.0 it was then moved back to the Cf category.

>>348 That's what you get when some retard thinks you should allow characters outside A-Za-z0-9_ in identifiers-
I left that post incomplete because I realized any character can be part of a symbol in most Lisps, and I'm not going to criticize Lisp.

Looks like C# is at fault here for trying to be smart and actually being retarded.

>>352 Fuck off weeaboo. In the real world, everybody from any country should be able to read, understand, modify, write, call and integrate code, which requires typing things in an alphabet known to every single programmer in the world. It happens to be latin because it's by far the most popular alphabet out of the simple, non-insane/autistic/retarded/hieroglyph alphabets.
These characters are currently under ISO ballot for inclusion in ISO/IEC 10646:2016 (5th ed.) (see WG2 N4705 pages 130, 131, 135, and 137โ138). Most of the 8,514 characters in this document will feed into Unicode version 10.0 in June 2017, but if national bodies have no objection to the emoji characters in the current CD ballot which closes 29 February 2016, then it is very likely that the Unicode Techinal Committee (UTC) will fast-track most or all of these 74 emoji into Unicode 9.0. None of these characters are particularly contentious or controversial, and I do not see any reason why they should not all be included in Unicode 9.0, but the final decision will not be made until the UTC meets in early May 2016.
>>360 they've included 4 new languages but taht's just a subsection at the end.

I have the Unicode font created by Jing Yongshi ๆฏๆฐธๆ and modified by myself that is used for the Unicode and 10646 code charts (and which I use for the Tangut glyph images in my Tangut blog posts), but unfortunately I do not have any rights to the font, and cannot distribute it. I had hoped to create my own Unicode Tangut font in time for the release of Unicode 9.0 in June, but that seems increasingly unlikely given the current demands on my time.
Jing Yongshi needs to take the GNUpill tbh

Submitting Emoji Character Proposals Submitting a Proposal
To submit a proposal for a new emoji character, fill out the form for Submitting Character Proposals. Include with that form the following information, and submit as per How to Submit Proposal Documents.
Osage /หoสseษชdส/[2] is a Siouan language spoken by the Osage people of Oklahoma. The last native speaker, Lucille Roubedeaux, died ca. 2005.[3]
In February 2014 a conference was held by the script's creator, Herman Mongrain Lookout, and the staff at the Osage Nation Language Department, along with UCS expert Michael Everson. They settled on a more detailed representation of the sounds in Osage and accounted for and documented changes in the Osage language. The result of the conference was a script reform; this included introduction of lower case, abolition of two ligatures, and the addition of at least one new character. The reformed alphabet is phonemic.[2]
WHO THE FUCK THINKS EMOJI COULD EVEN HAVE SKIN COLOUR!?!
EMOJI DEPICT EMOTIONS. EMOTIONS ARE NOT SKIN COLOUR!!!
The colour of an emoji is the colour of the font it's displayed with. Isn't that such a bloody obvious fact?

The obvious fact is that emoji should be displayed by the program and parsed\sent in some format like :thumbsup" or :asianwhorecrying: or :pileofshit:. If there's enough room for this garbage, then why was CJK unified?

>>366 because CJK glyphs are relevant only to people speaking chinese and emoticons are universal. CJK is also far larger and requires more technical support than a static emoticon.
