So where's the alternative to debian 8.0?

Last time I checked, their site hadn't been updated since launch. The systemd spread is so universal it seems like a cult or a bodysnatcher thing. What the fuck was wrong with sysvinit?

My #! system boots to a usable terminal window or browser on the desktop in <45s, and that's on an eight year-old thinkpad with 3GB RAM.

Good thing, the things it is hooked at are only low quality software.

If a project links into systemd, replace it with better software. Rinse and repeat. We will finally purge the shit from the linux userspace. And since it's all trivial poorly designed shit, the job will be easy.

It uses Runit instead of SystemD by default. And it's very anti-systemd so you won't have to worry about it invading or breaking the distro.
It's rolling release and very up to date
It has an interesting package management system called xbps

It's also very community based, so you will see some goodies that big distros often omit and the devs are always active and accessible.

However, it's not intended for beginners and doesn't come with batteries included. But that shouldn't be a problem for a /prog/ster.
