Why web 2.0 shit sucks

Name: Anonymous 2016-08-04 23:31

Let's use an immature standard and young libs for production servers
https://auth0.com/blog/critical-vulnerabilities-in-json-web-token-libraries/

Go run this one-liner that totally won't fuck your shit up to install a shitty package manager that works like shit anyways.

God damn it, why arent there any good JWT libs for C?

Why would anyone use JSON instead of sexpressions? JSON doesn't even have comments!

Aren't we on Web3.0 yet?

Javashit instead of sxheme,

It took them d3cades to.invent... they would have had sexps from day one.if it were scheme.

So disappointing. Why do coders have terrivle.taste in pls and.always makw things worse than they should be

Why would anyone use JSON instead of ASN.1? At least it's not XML...

The "modern Web2.0 way" to transfer a file is to base64 encode it, put that base64 into a JSON, then wrap that JSON in HTTP request only to have the server do the opposite on the other side. Instant 33%+ bandwidth waste. How about opening a TCP socket and sending the file directly with a tiny binary header? Retards.

To anyone who thinks this is a joke: it's not. I had to do this at work recently.

Also the entire shit was written in an in-house framework built on top of AngularJS which boxed every type in more JSON. So instead of sending "foo" I have to send { type: "string", data: "foo" } to get a string to the other side.

The best thing about web programming is there's no state to mutate.

What? There's definitely state to mutate in web programming.

There's a programming game called Screeps where they rent out CPU time to run your critters' AI code that you have to write.

Problem is: it's written in node.js. No fucking wonder the prices for CPU time are that fucking expensive, my god.

Some faggot had the audacity to recommend me a fucking C to JS compiler for this shit.

How exactly do you think immature standards and libraries become mature? It happens when people actually use them and contribute to its development.

Why exactly is node so slow? Is it just because it's interpreted, or is it noticeably worse than other interpreted languages?

Name: Anonymous 2016-08-09 2:57

it's javashit. that's all you need to know. even fibs in javashit takes a noticeably long time.

If you have to run on a javashit platform, you can do much, much worse than Emscripten. And you can actually use whatever language you want as long as it can output LLVM. It far outperformed the other compiler-to-javascript languages when I had to use it, but that was a couple years ago and for a different company.

I believe it, the people at my job who keep proposing nodejs have trouble understanding "single-threaded". the people proposing mongodb don't know what ACID means.

we run an HR corporation, we're charge of paying out the wages. the world sucks.

Not all database applications require ACID. I presume your one actually required ACID transactions.
