Feels good when people like your posts, doesn't it? So keep spending more time on the site to get more likes. More time on the site = more data for Facebook. More data for Facebook = more money for targeted ads.
People want to communicate with one another. That will never change. But how can we build a new kind of social network that isn't as harmful as Facebook?
I mean technically my car works without a catalytic converter but you're supposed to have one anyway

Okay, so if I wanted to make an anonymous board, you'd only want it if it worked without JavaScript or cookies?
But how will I handle post deletion then? If you want someone to have the option to delete a post, but don't want to have user accounts, you'd need to store some sort of cookie. Right?
Or do you not care about the ability to delete a post? You'd rather have no ability to delete, and no cookies at all?
Maybe it could have optional JS for extra features, and optional cookies which would allow you to delete old posts. But the site would still work without them?
>>6 You could use a trip-code like deletion method? - use a hidden trip for deletable posts (web/local storage of pass/id?) - resend trip to delete post

>>6,8 All users will have two tripcodes. Public tripcode(s) that is optional and can be added to name. A mandatory secret tripcode that isn't displayed to public. To delete a post just enter a secret tripcode into post (delete:) field.

>>6 Post deletion is a misfeature. It's only useful if you're a troll. If you're actually trying to discuss anything, you can't delete your posts because you can't guard against another user composing a reply to the post you intend to delete. Deletion of a parent post breaks the thread and confuses newcomers.
Deletion is also useless as a privacy measure because you can't prevent anyone from archiving all your posts before they can be deleted. It's better to not even provide the option to delete as this avoids giving clueless users a false sense of safety.
