you don't need to do something perfectly, just well enough
developer time is expensive, so trying to optimize everything means higher cost, but the whole point of this industry is to make money, so that'd be self-defeating
just let the open source autists waste all their free time developing better stuff so that we can benefit from using it without having to work for free
