Incel script kiddie/windows peasant vs virgin hipster vs CHAD HACKER

Name: Anonymous 2020-03-08 22:04

incel "windows peasant / script kiddie":
- Uses windows 10 and visual studio
- only develops shitty proprietary web apps
- thinks cmd is actually a hacker tool
- doesn't know what POSIX is
- only linux distributions he know are ubuntu and kali because "linux = haxx0rs XD"
- probably a wagie cuck
- uses spotify and electron apps without even realising how shitty nodejs is.
- uses chrome, or brave / vivaldi / opera if he's particularly paranoid and wants to "protect his privacy" (lol)
- owned by NSA and corporations on a daily basis
- only shell commands he knows are cd and exit
- retard manchild who plays videogames the whole day when not trying to develop a webapp or a shitty unity game

Virgin "tech hipster":
- Uses an overpriced macbook and a botnet-tier iphone
- far-left supporter, soyboy and male feminist cuck
- codes in atom or visual studio code, thinks web "apps" are actually something innovative
- wastes his time using facebook, twitter and instagram
- model citizen who hangs out at starbucks all day
- thinks any unix-like system is good
- language repretoire limited to very high-level dynamic languages like javascript, python and ruby
- uses shitty proprietary apps like chrome, itunes and discord
- always has to have the latest and most expensive gadget in order to feel like his existence is justified

CHAD ACTUAL HACKER:
- exclusively uses thinkpads and enhanced old laptops running GNU/Linux
- capable of taking over the world with a fucking raspberry pi if he wanted to
- C, shell scripts, make and python is all you need.
- May learn python and three different kinds of assembler if he wants to be chadder
- codes in vim, geany or emacs
- hates facebook, twitter and botnet-tier social network shit. Exclusively uses imageboards, IRC and/or XMPP to hang out with other chad hackers
- mocks society, NSA and corporations on a daily basis
- anarchist, but he doesn't care about political ideologies.
- made three different viruses to piss off the incel windows peasant
- has an ungoogled smartphone and he exclusively installs apps from f-droid
- "use palemoon with uMatrix bro"
- cmus is the only music player he needs
- has enough monero to survive the next banking panic a hundred times over

12/13, sold all my Monero at loss to pay the rent, I had only 4 XRM anyway. But it's the only crypto I care about.

1. Thinkpads have been garbage for so long the older non-shit models aren't viable anymore. You might as well do your programming on a 486.
2. Raspberry Pi is a disposable proprietary toy for people who don't know hardware.
3. XML-based messaging protocols considered harmful.
4. Anarchism is a political ideology.
5. Cryptocurrency is a joke and you're a sucker for buying into it.

Nice meme. Are you referring to x230 models? (are they not viable?) x200 models? IBM models?
Raspberry Pi is a disposable proprietary toy for people who don't know hardware.
Being capable of taking over the world from a disposable proprietary tool is even more impressive. That was the point.
XML-based messaging protocols considered harmful.
Ok. Doesn't affect the imageboard and IRC part
Anarchism is a political ideology.
And atheism is a religion?
Cryptocurrency is a joke
How's that? Care to explain?

CHAD ACTUAL HACKER:
- not delusional enough for the "taking over the world with a fucking raspberry pi" psychosis
- dislikes facebook, twitter, and reddit but uses boards
- he doesn't care about political ideologies like anarchists do

Not only is anarchism is political ideology, it's a left-wing political ideology. Xarn is an anarchist.
``Not caring'' about politics except for having a vague sense of wanting to be left to do what you want to do isn't anarchism, it's just being a lumpenprole. That kind of dumbass ignorance of the world around you is exactly why so many of you end up being useful idiots for reactionaries.

It's overkill. What do you actually need beside enough computing power to run an ssh client?

Gee, maybe something on the server end of that ssh connection.

It's not especially hard to obtain a shell from someone. You don't actually have to hack anything. People often need help. I lack many things, including skills and brain cells, but shells aren't one of them.

And what does that have to do with taking over the world?

Are you really unable to understand a simple figure of speech? Then it's not autism, it's being dense.

Do you even get that the whole post in >>1 is nothing but a half-baked iteration of an already old imageboard meme with deliberate outrageous claims?

So. The "Chad" hacker is probably an unemployed loser. This is hinted by the fact that the windows peasant is referred to as a wagecuck (it means having a job). The virgin "tech hipster" isn't explicitly given a job but we can infer that he's at least wealthy (overpriced macbook) and socially integrated with all his politically correct progressist orientation ("far-left supporter, soyboy and male feminist cuck")

Still, the "Chad" hacker is able to fulfill all his computing needs with a toy computer (like running a shady website for his shabby Monero income, shitposting on an anonymous board or implementing a useless MIX 1009 emulator in Awk). That's "taking over the world". "Chad" isn't really going to be the next president of USA, or the next Bill Gates, or the next Soros.

Lumpenproletariat aside, if you think any X-series Thinkpad is a good laptop (but especially the fucking tablet ones like the X200) you never understood Thinkpads, and you've probably never used an IBM one for any length of time.
I usually have two or three laptops at any one time and my main one has always been a Thinkpad, even now (because I'm a sucker), and I've regretted every single Thinkpad-branded product I've bought in the last decade. The cases are flimsy and crack, the touchpad is unusable on almost every model now (three-button unibody, great idea!), hardware compatibility is a joke, configurability is a shadow of its former self (hope you like compulsory fingerprint scanners and ``trusted computing'' hardware), even the UEFI firmware is buggy as hell.
Not every Thinkpad Lenovo has ever made has been shit, but everything in the price range of the IBM Thinkpads and every Thinkpad they currently make, is. Dell has been making better laptops than Lenovo for years, and even the bottom of the class is catching up now, but only because Lenovo has been racing to join them.

compulsory fingerprint scanners
No, it's optional and you should know it.

Name: Anonymous 2020-03-11 15:46

>>19
Using them is optional but the hardware isn't anymore except on one or two toy models. You're still paying for it, and it's still an unnecessary attack surface.
And obviously a Chinese company pushing so hard to be able to harvest everyone's fingerprints should worry you in itself.

Last Thinkpad I used was an IBM 600. It was a beast and Fritz was already able to beat the shit out of any chess player (except for a few Grandmasters) on this machine. It was rated around 2500 elo, if I remember. I mainly used it for chess games analysis as you probably guessed.
I recently bought a new model (T480, not the newest) without a fingerprint reader as it was a configuration option. I wasn't convinced about the other computers I checked: Dell, HP and System76. The Lenovo was the perfect good-enough fit for my sub-$1000 budget and I find it quite upgradable (RAM, SSD, Wifi card, screen, batteries, heatsink, bezel, keyboard ... there are aftermarket parts for everything, even changing the motherboard shouldn't be hard 10 years from now given the shear number of sales)

I can't do anything about Intel's shenaningans. A Dell would have had the same problems. I'm not even sure a librebooted T400s is so much better security-wise. https://www.extremetech.com/computing/266884-intel-wont-patch-older-cpus-to-resolve-spectre-flaws

The cases are flimsy and crack, the touchpad is unusable on almost every model now
That sucks. I guess I'll just have to take care of it. I'm not much of a touchpad user anyway.

>>20
And obviously a Chinese company pushing so hard to be able to harvest everyone's fingerprints should worry you in itself.
As said I didn't felt pushed as it was a configuration option that I removed. Alright, it was the default option. I wouldn't trust American companies either and I'm not willing to stop using a computer. There are always trade-offs for every decision you make.

You can't get the T480 without a fingerprint reader anymore.
You might also be unpleasantly surprised if you actually tried to order any of the aftermarket parts that are allegedly available; I usually get my Thinkpads with the local keyboard layout and then order a separate QWERTY keyboard because it comes out cheaper, and the last three times I tried that I got one incompatible part and two e-mails saying they no longer make the thing they're still selling on their website. That's separate from the fact that the models going for normal laptop prices (as opposed to the >$2000 workstations) are increasingly slimline/netbook garbage that don't even have the physical space for a second HD, much less any of the weirder things you used to be able to get bays for. Yeah, you can still upgrade the RAM and swap out the one HD. You can do that on anything that isn't a Mac.

I can confirm they've gotten worse lately. I've used a T430, 460 and 480 in the last year, and the trend toward thinness at the expense of all other features has destroyed the line. The 460 is still usable; the 480 just didn't feel like a ThinkPad (even a Lenovo) anymore. Faddish garbage. The pi 4b is already usable as a machine, and you can buy a cluster for half the price of a ThinkPad. The one benefit to all this cloud garbage is that using multiple machines to make a Frankenstein workstation won't be the trouble it would have been ten years ago.

Name: Anonymous 2020-03-12 7:11

I was under the impression T460 and T470/480 (non s) frames were almost identical? What gave you this impression of flimsiness? Cheaper plastics? Cost reductions? Is the keyboard at least still alright?
Everything goes to shit, but at least they retained a full sized RJ45 port, non-soldered RAM and hot swappable batteries. Upgrading the screen one day for a 4k isn't a big problem either. They still come with a minimum 3 years warranty and some mil-spec that sounds like total bullshit, I'm not that naive so let's not comment about that. Buying a used laptop was out of the question as people usually watch porn and come buckets all over their keyboard. T480 seemed the less shitty option in Lenovo's current line of products.

The pi 4b is already usable as a machine, and you can buy a cluster for half the price of a ThinkPad
Awesome. How do I write e-mails and shitpost when I'm homeless? Can I plug the Frankenstein workstation in a bar or somewhere near the couch at a good-souled student girl's studio apartment? Do they fit in the small backpack that makes me indistinguishable from a regular showered and shaved normie student carrying a small backpack? Is a virtualized Windows 10 even remotely usable on your DIY cluster?

You don't use Frankenstein workstation yourself, don't advertise that shit, lead by example.

I just want a laptop that lets me bolt on the ethernet cable like a VGA connector so I don't lose my connection every time I reposition myself. The connectors exist (just look for ``screw lock rj45''), everyone is just too cowardly to put them on a laptop instead of on industrial equipment that never moves anyway.

Name: Anonymous 2020-03-12 17:17

>>25
Is the keyboard at least still alright?
That's exactly the problem. Everything else - well, I don't throw my laptop around or anything so it's more nice to have, but with the T480 the keyboard crossed they keyboard crossed some threshold that just made it hard to feel what you were typing.

In terms of overall quality, my T460 freaks out and freezes up when I dare to use the processor at full capacity, so you know, that's not a good sign.

I defend my hypothetical frankencluster and challenge you to prove it can't be done.
